Blogging

In my previous post I talk about “Digital Youth”, and how children use the new technology without any difficulties. I am still very touched by what I heard and read. So, once more I will repeat that the new generation is much more creative than we. Furthermore, sometimes they do help us with some obstacles that we face while using the technology.  In this post I will speak about the blogging, something, which is very important and essential for us.  Furthermore, I want to say that I am very thankful to our professor, for integrating blogging into our classes. The reason is that, sometime we do not have time to read our materials very thoroughly, but we know that we are supposed to reflect about them in our blogs. So we come back during the weekends and read them again, but this time we read very attentively J. Another big advantage, which I want to mention is again from my own experience. The thing is that, when I am going to write about something interesting, sometimes I read my friend’s blogs to see what they think about the same topic. Moreover, I go further and find out many other interesting topics, and I do read them. Thus, we can see that blogging helps us to be creative, and it develops our critical thinking.

Thus, as an English language teacher I would say that I will definitely use blogging in my classes. The reason is that, I consider the blogging to be very helpful in the classroom. Furthermore, as Will Richardson says, it helps learners to get involved and motivates them to continue writing in their blogs, as they create a content for real audience.  From my point of view, saving time could be another biggest advantage, because the teacher can read all the posts at home and give comments if necessary. It sounds to me that, the blog is something which will stay with you forever. For example, now I learn at the American University of Armenia, and for our classes we use the Moodle website. We have a lot of stuff there, including our readings and assignments. However, I do know that after graduating the University, all the information will be vanished. While, everything  that I wrote in my blog, will stay with me.
In conclusion, I want to say that I like blogging, and I do like to write and share my thought with those people who are interested in the same topic. Moreover, as an English teacher, I will use blogging in my future classes for the above mentioned advantages.
